Cancellations and refunds

Bookings
Please be aware that our private hire chauffeurs are self-employed and are not employees of Apex Chauffeurs. For this reason, customers should always book journeys through our website, app or telephone number. Journeys arranged in any other way will not be insured.
You must order a suitable car size for the number of passengers and luggage. Apex Chauffeurs cannot guarantee to carry excessive amounts of luggage. Please note that a child, whatever their age, counts as one passenger. Likewise, we will not carry more passengers than our insurance or licensing allows.
We may record calls for training and monitoring purposes.
Service
Apex Chauffeurs does not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error free. Nor does it guarantee the availability of a vehicle at any time. You use the service at your own risk and discretion. Apex Chauffeurs shall use all reasonable endeavours to collect you and get you to your destination on time. However, it shall not be liable for any loss due to delays beyond its control. Under no circumstances shall Apex Chauffeurs be liable, in contract, tort or otherwise, for any loss of profits or business or for any indirect or consequential loss whatsoever.
The company and the chauffeur reserve the right to decline any booking and to ask for payment in advance. Equally, they may ask any passenger to leave the vehicle if they consider that passenger’s conduct a risk to the chauffeur’s safety.
Apex Chauffeurs may cancel all services and provide refunds in the event of a declared national emergency, riot, war, fuel shortage, extreme weather, terrorist attack or other circumstances beyond its control. If a vehicle breaks down during your journey, we will endeavour to arrange an alternative vehicle as soon as practicable.
Passengers and conduct
You are responsible for the behaviour of all passengers in the vehicle during the journey. In the unlikely event that a passenger soils the vehicle, we will charge you for the cleaning costs. Similarly, we will charge for any damage a passenger causes to the interior or exterior of a vehicle. Eating, drinking and smoking in the vehicles are not permitted.
It is a criminal offence to knowingly take a private hire journey without the means to pay for it. If you fail to pay, we will notify the police and provide them with all the personal details we hold.
Luggage and belongings
You carry all luggage and personal belongings entirely at your own risk. Apex Chauffeurs will not be responsible for loss of or damage to any items while they are in the vehicle.
Children and child seats
Every child travelling should be restrained in a manner appropriate to their age, weight and height. UK law exempts private hire vehicles from the legislation on children travelling in a baby seat, child seat or booster. For health and safety reasons, therefore, Apex Chauffeurs cannot provide any form of child seat. If you require one, the parent or carer must provide it, fit it in the vehicle and secure the child. On a return journey the chauffeur will not store your child seat for the return, so you must install it yourself each time.
Complaints
If you have a problem or complaint, it is essential that you inform the chauffeur immediately. To make a formal complaint, please write to our office no later than seven working days after your journey.
Changes to these terms
Apex Chauffeurs reserves the right to amend, change, delete or add to these terms and conditions without prior notice, whenever it considers this necessary.
